The city of Haifa in flames as fire broke in several locations; 60000 people evacuated; Police suspect Arson

Firefighters continue to battle fires across Israel

Netanyahu : Every single flame caused by arson is act of terror

As nighttime falls upon Israel on its 3rd day of raging fires, forces are still hard at work battling the fires throughout Israel. With 12 neighborhoods evacuated, Haifa is the main site of operations as 60,000 people were forced to leave their houses. About 100 people were treated for minor injuries mostly smoke inhalation . The wildfires were bolstered by high winds and dry conditions that have contributed to a spate of blazes across the country this week. However, Haifa is not the only location where the fires are still raging. The Israel Police is saying that “a wave of arson has befallen Israel” after 220 fires were reported during these past few days. The Israel Police has not ruled out arson as the cause of many of these fires. police said some arrests had been made in connection with the fires. During the day police and fire officials have refrained from commenting on which of the wildfires were caused by negligence, criminal arson or “nationalistically motivated” arson. Authorities believe that the fire at Shaar Hagai, close to the central Jerusalem-Tel Aviv highway was not caused by arson, but rather spread from a fire in the nearby community of Nataf that began on Tuesday. However, officials said that the blaze in Modiin that started earlier was likely the result of arson. Continue a ler (Continue reading)→

In: http://radiojai.com.ar/online/notiDetalle.asp?id_Noticia=83369

israelincendio24nov

The flames that broke out in several locations within Haifa are still spreading and have even reached residential homes. Large numbers of firefighting forces with the help of firefighting planes are attempting to contain the flames. 104 were slightly injured from smoke inhalation, 1 in moderate condition. More than 10 neighborhoods were ordered to evacuate.

This morning (Thursday), at least six fires broke out in Haifa. The decision was made to evacuate over 10 neighborhoods in the city, so far about 60 thousand people were evacuated. Mayor of Haifa Yona Yahav said: “We don’t want to be taking any risks.” At least 104 people were taken to a hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.

Due to the fact that the fire broke out in several locations almost simultaneously, the suspicions arise that they were purposely ignited, and two suspects were arrested.

The Israeli Prison Service is preparing to evacuate the 600 prisoners and 150 staff members from the prisons Damon and Carmel, located on the Carmel Mountain.

Because of a fire approaching the railway in Caesarea, Israel Railways announced they will halt all train movement from Binyamina to Hadera, which might make it difficult for the people of Haifa to evacuate.

Gilad Erdan, the Minister of Public Security ordered to direct all firefighting planes that operate in Israel to Haifa in an effort to bring the fire under control. Also 300 firefighters of home front command were called forth on emergency notice.

The new survey by Hiddush – an organization dedicated to freedom of religion in Israel – gives many reasons for hope. It gives hope that Israel will gradually improve itself – and also gives hope that the level of hysteria concerning state-religion relations in Israel will be reduced. In fact, it ought to be reduced, as the survey proves that most of the great problems are going to be solved without much need for aggressive intervention. eid-al-adha

9/11 memorial in Jerusalem / Lauder: ‘Nowhere in the world is terror understood better than in Israel’

“The entire world remembers the shock, the horror and the unbearable sadness of September 11, 2001. And nowhere in the world was that act of terror understood better than here in Israel,” World Jewish Congress President Ronald S. Lauder said Sunday during the US Embassy’s official ceremony at Jewish National Fund’s 9/11 Living Memorial in Jerusalem, marking 15 years since the terrorist attacks that took the lives of nearly 3,000 people.

Ronald S. Lauder at the Living Memorial in Jerusalem

“Jews had been the targets of terror since before this county was founded in 1948. This is why the sadness of 9/11 was so overwhelming in this country 15 years ago. This is why Israelis grieve for their friends in America. And that is why there is a memorial to the victims of that hateful crime here in Jerusalem,” said Lauder, who is also chairman of the JNF board and served as its president for 10 years. The Prime Minister of Israel

In: https://www.facebook.com/IsraeliPM/?hc_ref=PAGES_TIMELINE&fref=nf

I’m sure many of you have heard the claim that Jewish communities in Judea Samaria, the West Bank, are an obstacle to peace.I’ve always been perplexed by this notion.
Because no one would seriously claim that the nearly two million Arabs living inside Israel – that they’re an obstacle to peace. That’s because they aren’t. On the contrary.
Israel’s diversity shows its openness and readiness for peace. Yet the Palestinian leadership actually demands a Palestinian state with one pre-condition: No Jews.
There’s a phrase for that: It’s called ethnic cleansing.
And this demand is outrageous.
It’s even more outrageous that the world doesn’t find this outrageous. Some otherwise enlightened countries even promote this outrage.
Ask yourself this: Would you accept ethnic cleansing in your state? A territory without Jews, without Hispanics, without blacks?
Since when is bigotry a foundation for peace?
At this moment, Jewish schoolchildren in Judea Samaria are playing in sandboxes with their friends.
Does their presence make peace impossible?
I don’t think so.
I think what makes peace impossible is intolerance of others. Societies that respect all people are the ones that pursue peace. Societies that demand ethnic cleansing don’t pursue peace.
I envision a Middle East where young Arabs and young Jews learn together, work together, live together side by side in peace.
Our region needs more tolerance, not less.
So the next time you hear someone say Jews can’t live somewhere, let alone in their ancestral homeland, take a moment to think of the implications.
Ethnic cleansing for peace is absurd.
It’s about time somebody said it.
I just did.
